Switzerland widely rejects strengthening neutrality in its Constitution
Despite the division among the Swiss on their position of neutrality, the refusal to strengthen it in the Constitution won widely in the referendum of 27 September. While activists defend the role of Switzerland as a negotiating actor and the need not to take sides in conflicts, others ensure that it is not already involved in taking a position and can put the security of the country at risk, especially with the war in Ukraine happening in Europe and Russia by supporting the party that promotes neutrality.
