In Israel, the extraction of post-mortem semen has become a state policy following the Hamas attack on 7 October. It was an almost anecdotal practice and required permission from a judge; but, under a state of emergency, only permission is required for its use. In three years, 21 civilians and 250 soldiers have been killed through this process, with which parents and couples seek to continue their families.
