Japanese Kamikazes: the testimony of a survivor of World War II

In the last months of World War II, thousands of young Japanese pilots were ordered to launch their explosive-loaded aircraft against the Allied ships. The Kamikaze missions were presented as an act of sacrifice by Japan, but they also left a deep mark of death and controversy. Decades later, one of the last surviving pilots remembers that experience in an interview with our reporter Mélodie Sforza.

After four years of the sabotage of Nord Stream, the consequences still persist

This is one of the most shocking acts of sabotage since World War II. On the night of 26 September 2022, three of the four North Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines exploded at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, releasing about 465,000 metric tons of methane into the atmosphere. The attack put an end to a strategic energy link between Russia and Germany. Four years later, our correspondents Anne Maillet and Nick Holdsworth go through the consequences that still persist.
