The first oil tankers to deliver Russian diesel to the United States have changed course and are no longer heading towards the American coast. A decision that probably burys the agreement between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin reached before the mid-term elections.

The US President hopes to stem the rise in fuel prices in the run-up to the mid-term elections, but creates a breach in Western sanctions imposed on Russia since the beginning of Ukraine's large-scale invasion.
