Smit Machchhar, Indian captain of the Emirati flydubai airline, became the protagonist of an air safety incident after his co-pilot allegedly stabbed him during a flight between Dubai and Tel Aviv, in which 174 people were travelling. Gravely injured, Machchhar would have managed to open the cabin door to allow the intervention of passengers and crew, which reduced the alleged aggressor while two other pilots on board assumed control of the aircraft.
