More than 250,000 people went out on Tuesday to the streets of France, according to the Ministry of the Interior, to demand improvements in public education. The mobilization, which began in September in the suburbs of Paris, spread to the main cities of the country and resulted in clashes between groups of demonstrators and the police. The Government of Sébastien Lecornu now seeks to respond to the demands while facing a budget crisis and the proximity of the 2027 presidential elections.
