Christa Pike, the woman who survived two lethal injections after being sentenced to death more than 30 years ago in Tennessee, remains in critical condition. According to witnesses present during the procedure, Pike lost consciousness, but continued to breathe and give vital signs. According to his legal team, Pike received two doses of pentobarbital, the drug used to cause death, and the staff used at least seven needles to try to channel a path on his left arm, one of which would have been doubled.
