In the Masafer Yatta area of the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers installed at least nine illegal outposts during the 2020s. However, the area has been officially regarded since 2022 as a military area by Israel, which prohibits any construction there. In September, the Israeli army demolished three Palestinian villages, considered "illegal structures".
