Cristiano Ronaldo announced his retirement from international football on Thursday, ending his 23-year career with Portugal. At 41, the Al-Nassr forward leaves the national team with 234 caps and 146 goals, both world records. As captain, he helped Portugal win Euro 2016 and two Nations League titles in 2019 and 2025. The decision comes after several weeks of tension with head coach Jorge Jesus, following Ronaldo's departure from the Portugal squad in September.
