Ethiopia's opponents meet in the city of Egyptian scholars in the midst of rising confrontations in Tigray.

Concerns are escalating from ramifications that may go beyond Ethiopian borders to the entire Horn of Africa region. These fears were at the centre of the quadripartite summit hosted by the city of Al-Amin al-Masri, which brought together Egypt, Eritrea, Somalia and the Sudan, in the midst of sharp discrepancies with Addis Ababa about regional security files, the Red Sea and the dam of Renaissance. While Cairo stressed the rejection of any unilateral actions affecting the rights of the State of origin, the Ethiopian Federal Forces had declared control over Micelli, the capital of Tigray, in a development that was more complex in an area already suffering from intertwined crises and open conflicts.
