Algeria: The House of Representatives approves the application of the death penalty to forest fires and abductions of children

The Algerian National People ' s Assembly has adopted a draft amendment to the Penal Code to include the death penalty for offences of fire and abduction of children. After its approval, the text shall be moved to the Council of the Nation, Chamber II of Parliament, for discussion and vote before it is signed by the President of the Republic and issued in the Official Gazette to begin its application.
