Following the approval of United States President Donald Trump for the execution of the former United States Army psychiatrist Nadal Hassan, convicted of the murder of 13 persons at the Fort Hood base in 2009, the Pentagon confirmed that his shooting would be broadcast live online. Minister of Defence Pete Higgsith said that the execution of the sentence would be public, in the first anticipated execution of the United States Army since 1961.
