Parliamentary consensus to isolate the President of Paraguay Santiago Peña in the midst of popular anger.
The Chamber of Deputies of Paraguay unanimously voted in favour of the removal of President Santiago Benea, only minutes after his resignation. This decision followed the collapse of the prominent digital bank associated with his Government, which resulted in the freezing of the savings of millions of people and the exit of protesters to the streets.
