The Hutti after Bab el-Mandeb: a new letter of power for Iran?

The Huti rebels in Yemen have strengthened their positions around the Bab el-Mandeb narrow strategic, a maritime track that connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and that circulates about 12 per cent of world trade. Its progress, amid the resumption of fighting in Yemen and the tension with Saudi Arabia, increases pressure on an essential route for transport between Europe and Asia.
