Live: Pope Leo XIV urges concessions to achieve peace while the war in Ukraine continues
During the fourth and last day of his visit to France, Pope Leo XIV delivered a speech in the city of Metz, where he stated that negotiators seeking to end the war in Europe must be willing to sacrifice some positions to achieve peace, as efforts to end Russia's bloody invasion of Ukraine continue to fail. The Pontiff also criticized the increase in defence spending in the EU, recalled the Christian history of the continent and advocated unity.
