The US President's Government, Donald Trump, demanded in October 2025 the Government of the Brazilian President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to allow the participation of "political dissidents" in this year's presidential elections, as part of the negotiation on Brazilian export tariffs, as revealed by a local newspaper.
