Colombia: The tourist Santa Marta is militarized in the face of a drug paramilitary group
Closed commercials, suspended classes and empty streets marked the day of this Wednesday September 23 in the tourist city of Santa Marta, in the Colombian Caribbean. The Government of Abelardo de la Espriella deployed more than 1,100 police and military personnel following the threat declared by the Sierra Nevada drug paramilitary group Self-Defense Conquistadora.
