Twenty-five years ago, negotiations began in the Kimberley Process to end the trade in "blood diamonds", blood diamonds, made famous by the Sierra Leonean civil war. Pointed out for his complicity, the diamond industry has since sought to wash his image, highlighting an ethical turn and a more virtuous economy.
