United Kingdom: A separatist front against London?
The leaders of the Scottish National Party, Plaid Cymru and Sinn Féin have signed a memorandum of understanding to coordinate their demands for self-determination and to demand constitutional changes in the United Kingdom. Although their political projects are not identical, they share the rejection of the concentration of power in Westminster and a willingness to strengthen their ties with Europe. Faced with this nationalist front, the forces that defend British unity and a more centralized model seek to strengthen their own response. Is the UK union at risk?
