Historic gains for Arab-majority parties in Israeli election

Two Arab-majority parties are set to win a historic 19 seats in total, amid a record turnout at the polls in Israel on Tuesday. Voters from the community, descendants of Palestinians who stayed after Israel's creation and who make up around 20 percent of the population, have been enraged by the Netanyahu government's ultra-nationalist Jewish vision for the country and the Palestinian territories. West Bank: settlers using drones to monitor Palestinians

"We feel like we’re being watched all the time." In the occupied West Bank, Palestinian farmers are speaking out against the extensive use of drones by Israeli settlers and the Israeli military. Palestinians in West Bank fear further escalation of violence if Netanyahu remains PM

Ramallah residents say they hope to see Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lose power in elections. "Netanyahu remaining in power means that there will be a clash, a build-up of tension and an explosion in the region", says one resident. Israel has committed the crime against humanity of "extermination" in the West Bank, while continuing to commit "genocide" against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, United Nations-mandated investigators said Monday (October 27).

UN cites 'ethnic cleansing' concerns around Israel's Palestinian displacement operation in Hebron

The United Nations on Monday raised "ethnic cleansing" concerns following Israel's operation to displace by force more than 3,000 Palestinians from their homes in Hebron in the West Bank after two Palestinian gunmen killed two Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint near the city on Friday. UN rights chief Volker Turk said in a statement that the "aggressive operation" must end, and that "collective punishment is a grave violation of international law".
