Russia: possible case of pneumonic plague investigated in Siberia
The Russian health authorities and the World Health Organization are investigating a possible case of pneumonic plague in Siberia, after a worker from a specialized infectious disease institute died after developing severe pneumonia. Although several media have reported a possible infection of the bacteria, the Russian authorities point out that the cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed and that the evidence is ongoing. However, 200 people have been quarantined.
