Since the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in December 2024, southern Syria has become the scene of many Israeli military operations. In a number of villages close to the area of separation between Syria and the Golan Heights, residents told France 24 that they had faced incursions, searches and arrests by Israeli soldiers.
Among these men and women expelled from the United States, some have been living on American soil for decades. They had worked there, paid their taxes and built their lives. From day to day, they are arrested, detained, and sent to countries they do not know, where they have no resources or clearly established status.
