In India, numerous arrests including that of the leader of the "cafard" party
The Indian government has made numerous arrests on Saturday, including the head of the "cafard" movement, the spearhead of the student revolt in India, to prevent the demonstration in New Delhi demanding the resignation of the President of the Electoral Commission. The UN High Commission for Human Rights called for the "immediate" release of all persons detained "arbitrarily".
