Yemen launches major offensive against Saudi Arabian air-supported Huti in Taiz
The Government of Yemen is launching a major offensive against the Huti rebels with the help of Saudi Arabia: it will support from the air, while Yemeni air forces fight on the ground. Intense fighting took place in the Yemeni province of Taizz, in the south-west of Yemen and surrounded by a mountain chain with access to Aden; if the Huti take control of these areas, they could cut these routes and threaten the transport of supplies. After taking over Moca, the Red Sea Coast, the Perim, Hanish and Kamaran islands, the Huties ordered a blockade against ships linked to Saudi Arabia.
