Trump receives Xi with honors, but the summit leaves few signs of agreements on sensitive issues
The bilateral meeting and the subsequent dinner in homage to the visitor wasted pompa and symbolism, but did not offer clues on how both leaders will address the issues that separate them, such as artificial intelligence, trade, the Taiwan issue and the war with Iran. Trump exalted the ties between the two countries and, like Xi, preferred not to enter the divisive issues during public pronouncements.
