Israel: Gadi Eisenkot seeks to consolidate its support to form government after the elections

The Israeli opposition bloc, headed by Gadi Eisenkot, seeks to gather the necessary support to form a parliamentary majority following the 27 October legislative elections, which did not leave a clear winner. The role of the Arab parties, which achieved a historic record of 19 seats, is at the heart of the negotiations. For its part, Benjamin Netanyahu proposes a broad coalition that excludes these formations, which he accuses of "supporting terrorism."
