RD Congo: Kinshasa wants to keep the Monusco in the east of the country
The current mandate of Monusco in the Democratic Republic of the Congo expires on 20 December. The Security Council will have to decide whether to renew it, modify its priorities or prepare a new phase in the withdrawal of the mission. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, which had requested the departure of peacekeepers, is now defending their continued presence in the eastern part of the country.
