In China, a crackdown on scam centers in Burma
In South-East Asia, hundreds of thousands of workers in fraud centres are swindling people around the world – in the United States, Europe and China. The damage would amount to nearly $10 billion a year for American nationals alone. But these crooks are also often themselves victims, forced into slavery according to human rights defenders. China is trying to dismantle these scam centres in neighbouring Burma.
