Why is armed violence still a serious problem in South Africa?
South Africa has for years been facing high levels of armed violence and one of the highest homicide rates in the world. The authorities often link many attacks to gang-to-gang conflicts, territorial disputes and organized crime. The concern grew again after two massive shootings that occurred a few hours apart.
