The Mirlos: the Amazonian psychedelic cumbia that conquered the world
There are songs that can turn a place into a sound. This is the case of the Amazonian psychedelic cumbia, a rhythm born in the Peruvian forest that, with its electric guitars and hypnotic melodies, ended up crossing borders and oceans. Behind one of its great exponents are Los Mirlos, the legendary Peruvian group that has been taking the music of the Amazon to stage around the world for more than five decades.
