France: Le Pen's ultra-right wins ground in the Senate seven months after the presidential
The extreme right-wing National Group (RN) party of Marine Le Pen and its allies got enough seats in the French Senate to form a parliamentary group in the upper chamber for the first time in the party's history. RN won 14 seats out of a total of 348 on Sunday. Half of the Senate is elected by indirect vote every three years and the members of this chamber, dominated by the right, are in office for six years.
