Nepal: When the success of protecting wildlife turns into a threat to the lives of the population

In half a century, Nepal has been able to impose itself as a universal reference in environmental conservation. About 20 per cent of the country ' s small land in the Himalayas has been classified as protected areas, as a result of counter-invasive fishing policies. Symbols such as the Unicorn, which were threatened by extinction, have been saved. However, this success has led to increased conflicts between wild animals and local populations living on the limbs of these natural reserves. The more wild animals, the more they need to expand their natural reach.
