The frontier in Ukraine is expanding, with a Russian escalation of more deaths and destruction, from Kramatursk in the east to the capital, Kiev, where attacks are renewed and fears for the lives of civilians are growing. While Kiev calls on Washington to tighten sanctions and strengthen military support, particularly in the area of air defence, positions on ways to deal with war vary. President Zelenski of Ukraine said that a delegation of Ukrainian negotiators would go to the United States on Friday and Saturday for talks.

A Russian air strike targeted a bridge over the River Dnebro in Kiev.

Vitaly Klechko, mayor of Kiev, said that the northern bridge crossing the River Dnebro in the city was targeted during a Russian air attack today, Saturday, under the escalation of infrastructure attacks in the Ukrainian capital. Klechko added that the emergency teams had deployed on the site, and that traffic across the bridge from the East Bank to the West Bank had ceased following damage to the surface of the road and to the upper trolley bus cables, and no reports of deaths or injuries had been received.
