United States: 60 years ' imprisonment for torture for the Syrian Adra prison administrator in Assad

A federal court in the United States sentenced 60 years ' imprisonment to a former prison director in Damascus for torture between 2005 and 2008, as declared by the United States Department of Justice on Thursday. Sustained to Samir Osman Sheikh, who was running the Adra Bad Al-Assad prison, was prosecuted for " human rights atrocities in Syria, including silences of political opponents " . Three victims testified during the trial.
