Morocco ' s Wednesday orientation is directed towards the selection of a new parliament, which, for five years, will be predicated by a Government in elections over which purchasing power, unemployment and social inequalities are overshadowed, as the influence of political parties declines. More than 7,000 candidates compete with the votes of some 16 million voters, of some 36 million Moroccans, to select 395 deputies. The participation rate, especially among young people, is one of the main indicators of these elections.
