French high school and university students call for new blockades and marches on Thursday, October 8, with the support of several teaching unions, to demand more funding, additional 250,000 university places and the end of selection through Parcoursup. The student organizations ask them to meet with the Prime Minister, Sébastien Lecornu. The Government has increased its efforts to bring the crisis to an end, in the midst of reports of police violence.
