The rector of Cornell University, Michael Kotlikoff, announced that he will support an independent investigation in order to "never again repeat this situation," after an investigation was reopened in the state prosecutor's office of New York for an alleged group rape against a student in October 2024, which at the time did not result in any arrest or charges.
