A housing deficit that could reach the million in 2028: what do Spanish protesters ask?
According to the Central Bank, Spain has a housing deficit of 750,000, which could continue to grow, while some 120,000 residences are built a year, just one sixth of what was built before the financial crisis of 2008. The protesters demand measures from the Government of Pedro Sánchez to prevent cases such as the 87-year-old eviction of Maricarren Abascal from the apartment he occupied more than 70 years ago.
